About Us
Izinsika Zesizwe is a not for profit company that was established in 2012 to support youth and other vulnerable people. Youth as defined by Izinsika Zesizwe are youth between the ages of 16-30 These are youth that are in and out of school but lack the skills to succeed in the future. Izinsika Zesizwe seeks to give youth an alternative to the streets by exposing them to different opportunities and encouraging them to rise above their circumstances. It provides integrated and holistic youth development programmes to address unemployment and poverty.
Our Vision
Is to develop future fit youth by empowering them with current and future skills. We will do this by rolling out integrated and holistic youth development program, thereby fighting youth unemployment, poverty and build sustainable small businesses.
Our MIssion
Is to keep the youth off the streets by exposing them to different opportunities, assist them to rise above their circumstances, take charge and control of their future and mostly giving them HOPE.
Partnerships
Izinsika Zesizwe has partnered with various organisations that are strategically and principally aligned to its vision for the Ekangala community. In total we have 16 partners that have collaborated with us during the youth empowerment expos and offered adhoc training and engagements with our youth.
Our Approach
The work of Izinsika Zesizwe is built on positive youth development approach which is one of many ways of considering a holistic view of developing young people to ensure they reach their full potential.
Positive youth development (PYD) “engages youth along with their families, communities and/or governments so that youth are empowered to reach their full potential.
PYD approaches build skills, assets, and competencies; foster healthy relationships; strengthen the environment; and transform systems.”
It provides a NorthStar lens through which the organization can check its programmes to see if it is truly empowering youth to take charge and control of their future and give them hope while addressing the systemic issues that they face.
Izinsika Zesizwe’s approach is to expose and connect youth with opportunities by providing them access to various organisations operating in the space of youth development; skills development and training while generating income; access to a safe space to keep them engaged and actively planning their future.
